I.FLY - FAQ
Your I.FLY Instructors…
Our instructors come from a variety of athletic and artistic backgrounds, each with various circus performance experiences. They also have hospitality and entertainment experience that they utilize to create our comfortably inviting atmosphere. I.FLY instructors possess all the proper knowledge to instruct you, keep you safe, and make your Flying Trapeze experience enjoyable and memorable. Don't let a little bit of fear ruin your curiosity for the unforgettable feeling of flying. Visit us. We'll help make it happen!
Can you fly on the trapeze?
ABSOLUTELY! If you are willing to try, we are willing to show you and make your experience safe and memorable. No one is too heavy, too little, too weak, too uncoordinated, too old, or any other impediment you may think exists. It's even okay to be scared and we will walk you through it step by step with understanding and help you succeed and enjoy this exhilarating experience.
Our space is also available to rent privately for parties (kids and adults), corporate groups, family gatherings, special interest groups, tour groups, school groups, or any event you desire.
Who cannot fly on the trapeze?
Pregnant women, anyone with a heart condition, anyone with recent surgery, and/or anyone with any physical condition that would be adversely affected by physical exertion.
We will not allow anyone who comes to the site under the influence of drugs or alcohol to participate in Flying Trapeze. Our Staff reserves the right to deny access to our facility to anyone who they believe may be a danger to themselves and others. Furthermore, if a person is rude or uncooperative they may be denied participation or asked to leave. So if you have a rough day, come to relax and be cool, because we're all here to have fun!
Age Restrictions
There is no age restriction. Adults up to any age are welcome. Generally, kids starting at age 4 tend to be aware and agile enough to participate and many of them do. A legal parent or guardian must be present if their child is under the age of 12, unless particular arrangements have been made with the I.FLY staff. A waiver for each child must be signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian only, for any student under the age of 18.
Levels of ability…
Classes are open to everyone from first timers to frequent flyers. Doing so allows more flexibility for participants as well as staff. This will also help us avoid canceling classes. Our instructors are competent in instructing all levels, maintaining class flow, and giving you the experience you deserve.
How many students do you have in a class?
Ten people is normally the limit for a class. This number gives a good ratio for time and instruction in a class. It is possible to exceed that number in certain situations. Anyone is welcome to buy out a whole time slot and bring fewer than ten people to increase their group's number of swings and attention they receive. As a group you may also bring more than ten people. Each person will get a little less time, but have fun none the less and have some great pictures!

Cool! Check our Schedule page and find a day and flight time that works for you. Use our online booking system to reserve your spot in class with a deposit. It's that simple. Your balance is paid on the day of flying.
What should I wear to class?
I.FLY gear of course. We have a lot of new colors and styles. Otherwise, all participants wear a safety belt, so you must wear something that covers your stomach to avoid any rubbing or irritation. Fitted or tight clothing that allows you to move freely is usually best (tights, yoga pants, or capris) but is not mandatory. A pair of socks or light fitted slippers to wear while you're flying will make walking in the net easier and more comfortable. You can not wear sneakers while flying but you may wear sandals or sneakers between turns.
Anyone with long hair should pull it back so it's not blowing in your face. Plastic hair clips are prohibited.
Safety…we got that covered!
Flying Trapeze is very safe in a controlled environment like the one we provide for our participants. We take safety very seriously. Our methods of teaching revolve around it and our standards are high. I.FLY's staff members must pass a safety standards checklist before working the rig and they are required to maintain these high standards to maintain their employment.
Our equipment is supplied by the most reputable manufacturers in the business. Everyone wears a harness and is attached to safety lines when flying. The safety lines will ease you down to our custom hand made net which catches you before your final descent back down to earth! Constant equipment safety checks are ongoing by the staffs' trained eyes while other maintenance is scheduled weekly and monthly according to requirements.
Please remember that like any physical activity, scratches, blisters, or aches are not completely unavoidable. Additionally, please let us know if you have any special conditions that may affect your safe participation in our program.
Yes. There's a waiver…
The waiver allows our insurance to be effective for any situation that warrants its use. Please read the waiver carefully and to fully understand it before you sign. It's a document designed to protect you and the school, it informs you of the risk you are taking, and it makes sure that you take full responsibility for that risk. Hey it wasn't our idea, it's just the world we live in, and to bring you this great activity we have to ask you to sign it.
Children under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Groups of Kids: if you are bringing a group of kids, please download our waiver and have each child's parent or legal guardian sign it before you arrive. View / print the waiver
Canceling? I guess if there's no other choice…
(1) PLEASE contact us 48 hours prior to your class time if you must cancel. Send an email (subject: cancel) with your name to info@iflytrapeze.com. We need sufficient time to allow empty spaces to be filled by others wanting to fly. Otherwise call (516) 640-6995.
(2) If you PRE-PAID and reserved a class, you MUST still cancel 48 hours prior. If you do not, the class will be considered "paid & flown" by you.
GROUPS will have policies particular to their event.
Non-Refundable Prepaid
Prepaid classes are non-refundable simply due to the fact that you can participate in another class. However, if you reserve your space and can't make it, you must still cancel otherwise you will lose the class and it will count as "participated" by you for lack of notice.
If I.FLY cancels
We reserve the right to cancel or combine classes. If a class is moved to a different date or time, you will have the first option of keeping it.
Obviously we have no control over the weather, and we will only cancel if absolutely positively necessary. A few clouds or rain drops do not necessitate cancellation. You will be notified of any cancellations.
Discounted Sessions

All credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee.
